However, it\u2019s important to know that you <strong>still have legal options<\/strong> to keep fighting for your case. In this blog, we clearly explain the steps you can take if an immigration judge has decided to issue a deportation order against you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What happens if a judge orders your deportation?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When an immigration judge denies your case and issues a deportation order, <strong>it does not mean that everything is lost<\/strong>. The law allows you to appeal that decision. This means you can ask another court to review what the judge decided. While that appeal is in process, your deportation can be stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Appeal options available<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the judge decides to deport you, you can file an appeal with the <strong>Board of Immigration Appeals<\/strong> (BIA). Act quickly<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The time to appeal is very short. You only have <strong>30 days<\/strong> from the moment the judge gives their decision to file the appeal. That\u2019s why it\u2019s very important to contact an immigration lawyer <strong>immediately<\/strong> after losing your case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Request a \u201cStay of Removal\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can request what is called a <strong>Stay of Removal<\/strong>, which is a petition to stop the deportation while the appeal is in process.
